Sany Heavy Energy attends the Beijing Carbon Neutrality Forum to explore ways to break through the wind energy industry

On March 19th, the "High Quality Development of Wind Energy Industry under the Background of Carbon Neutrality" special forum of the "Second Beijing Carbon Neutrality Academic Conference", guided by the Beijing Association for Science and Technology and hosted by the Beijing Carbon Neutrality Society, was held in Beijing. Deng Gang, Senior Vice General Manager of Sany Heavy Energy Marketing Company, and Wu Baoxin, Deputy Director of the Solution Center, were invited to attend and explore the high-quality development path of the wind power industry with industry experts and industry chain partners.

Deng Gang, Senior Vice General Manager of Sany Heavy Energy Marketing Company, stated in his opening speech that the National People's Congress and the 15th Five Year Plan have pointed out the direction for the wind power industry, and the industry is moving from scale expansion to a new stage of high-quality, high-efficiency, and sustainable development. Subsequently, Wu Baoxin, Deputy Director of Sany Heavy Energy Solutions Center, delivered a special speech on "Breaking the deadlock and restructuring: the way to develop high-quality and high-yield wind power projects in the 15th Five Year Plan".

In response to the challenges of reduced high-quality wind resources and low electricity prices, Wu Baoxin clearly pointed out that the large-scale development of wind turbines based on maturity and stability is an inevitable trend for future development. After deeply analyzing the profit logic of the project, he proposed to start with five key links: improving the rationality of planning, enhancing the accuracy of evaluation, improving the adaptability of aircraft models, reducing the cost of electricity per kilowatt hour, and enhancing the level of prediction, in order to comprehensively guarantee the expected returns of future projects and help the industry to break through and reconstruct. At the same time, it is pointed out that due to the great difficulty in predicting time series electricity prices in market-oriented transactions, LCOE (cost per kilowatt hour) is still the core indicator for evaluating project profitability for subsequent wind power projects, but the premise is to fully consider boundary conditions such as power rationing ratios. For further reducing the cost of electricity per kilowatt hour, increasing the impeller diameter and unit capacity is the best way while ensuring that the unit kilowatt sweeping area is equivalent.

This solution, which starts from the perspective of the entire lifecycle, provides a clear breakthrough idea for the industry to cope with the new challenges during the 15th Five Year Plan period.

The holding of this forum provides an important platform for the wind power industry to gather consensus and clarify the path in the first year of the 15th Five Year Plan.
